Feasibility Study on a Proposed of Bus Rapid Transit Systen for Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

This project is a feasibility study on a proposed of Bus Rapid Transit System in Kota Kinabalu District of Sabah and the district adjacent to it. The objective of this study is to undertake a comprehensive traffic study including ridership and forecast and Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) along proposed corridors which feasibly will be supported by high capacity public transportation system in order to reduce traffic congestion on roads within the corridors. There are 4 corridors studied in terms of roads, land use activities and landmarks within the corridors.

In traffic studies, tasks that performed were to propose location for station, depot, terminals and park and ride facilities for each alignment option. Besides, to proposed accessibility and mobility: feeder bus routes connecting residential areas to stations, terminals and park and ride.  A comprehensive comparative study also has been carried out to determine the most suitable type of Urban Transport System to be implemented for Kota Kinabalu.
