TIA on Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit (LRT)

Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit (BL LRT) project will provide the first commuter rail line on the Penang Island to meet rising demand along the north-south corridor. The BL LRT line will run from Komtar to Permatang Damar Laut on the Penang Island. 

Penang LRT project is the detailed design study that will cover 29.5 kilometers running from Komtar to the Penang International Airport and the three future reclaimed islands in the south of Penang.  

The main objective of this study is to carry out the transport planning and facility assessment for Light Rail Transit (LRT) stations in Penang, Traffic modeling and preparation of Traffic Impact Assessment to be submitted to Project Proponent and Authorities. 

The main things that have been focused on are the impact of the road system to the station and evaluation for the road and junction performance. The proposed mitigation and traffic dispersal scheme has been imposed on each of the stations.
