The Proposed Of Upgrading And Expansion Of Terminal Building, Aircraft Parking Apron And Associated Facilities At Penang International Airport, Malaysia

Traffic Study for the proposed PIA Expansion Development is from 6.5mppa to 16mppa. The traffic study focused on the landside vehicular access pattern where a comprehensive traffic dispersal scheme has been proposed to the PIA area as well as adjacent development namely Multi-Storey and Mitsui Outlet Park Penang.  

A comprehensive traffic dispersal scheme has been proposed to have a smooth traffic ingress and egress at the proposed site. The major challenge of this project is the location of the PIA is surrounded by a congested area. As a result, an elevated road has been proposed to provide a direct ingress and egress for the PIA as well as the Multi Storey carparks.
